I was surprised to find out that these donation boxes were actually for-profit entities that sell “donated” clothing for cash. Wealth redistribution is the first thing that comes to mind but I’m sure that’s an over statement and misplaced blame. At the very least, these donation boxes are a reminder that the things that you covet today can be pimped out for cash tomorrow.
